Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center offers a day treatment program for adults who struggle with a mental health disorder but do not need the around-the-clock care of an inpatient program. It aims to reduce unhealthy and self-destructive behaviors through psychosocial education; creative expression therapy; cognitive-behavioral therapy; medication management and individual, group and family counseling.
This treatment option can serve as an alternative to an inpatient program or a step-down for continued progress and reduced risk of re-hospitalization. Patients receive a no-cost assessment that help us determine the proper level of care for them.
The mental health day treatment program takes place Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
