ADOS-2 Clinical Workshop- Virginia Tech

What is it? The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2nd edition (ADOS-2) is a “gold standard” observational assessment for diagnosing autism. It includes structured interactions and questions designed to elicit and assess social and communication behaviors.

This training also serves as a mandatory pre-requisite for researchers interested in ADOS-2 Research Training to use the ADOS-2 for research.

What will be taught? The ADOS-2 Clinical Workshop will provide the skills necessary to utilize the ADOS-2 in clinical settings. The ADOS-2 includes 5 modules for assessing toddlers through adults. Training for Modules 1-4 is on August 13 and 14. Training for the Toddlers module is on August 15 and is optional. Registration is required.

Who should attend? Clinicians or other professionals who have prior knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders and psycho-diagnostic assessment/testing who wish to learn how to further evaluate children with ASD.

How much does it cost? $500 per person for days 1 and 2 or $600 per person for all three days.

What should you bring? It is highly recommended that all participants bring an ADOS-2 manual which can be purchased online at www.wpspublish.com.

About the trainer:

Dr. Norm Geller holds appointments at both Virginia Commonwealth University in the School of Education and the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law. He has been helping children, adults, and families through assessments, evaluation, and educational program planning for over 35 years. He received his Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University and his Master’s degree from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Geller is an international independent trainer providing professional development workshops on the ADOS-2.
