Loudoun Connect: Critical Decision Points for Families (Leesburg)

December 2, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pm

Free

Throughout your child’s school career, especially if your child requires an IEP or has special needs, there are certain decisions you will need to make along the way. In 2014 the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities (VBPD) identified specific challenges for families, and the timeframe in which they need to be addressed. The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) then developed and implemented a parent training program to help guide families to what to be aware of and when as their child progressed. Formed Families Forward is pleased to present this training for Northern Virginia for foster, adoptive and kinship families raising children with special needs. Come learn more about diploma options, IEPs vs. 504s and how to ensure your child is being prepared for life after school – from preschool on.

VDOE Critical Decision Points guides will be distributed to all registered participants.

Light lunch will be served. This event is open only to parents, caregivers and interested professionals. No child care is available.
